Project: Monterey Bay Aquarium Game
Overview:
Design Thinking is an strong compliment to ADDIE, as a way to make development iterative and agile. This game was designed as part of my Google UX Certificate. One of my clients wanted a Facilitator’s Guide with lessons based on the Design Process, and that prompted me to explore how UX principals could improve the flow of my eLearning modules. I chose a prompt and used Figma and Adobe XD to design a website and mobile app version of a game that could be used by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. After taking the project through the design process, I used Storyline 360 to create an interactive and playable version of the game.
This process began with understanding the user pain points, and creating user personas and a user journey map. I started the with a site map, and moved from paper wireframes and moved to digital wireframes, and low-fidelity prototypes, high-fidelity prototypes and mockups. I also conducted a mock usability study and addressed accessibility. I have provided more information in the slideshow presentation below, as well as an image of one the mock-ups and how the module could be viewed on a responsive website.
Intended Audience: Museums, nonprofits and organizations that design educational materials
